This week was just back into the swing of things, nothing too crazy, but lots of huge blessings! We were able to have two of our investigators pass their baptismal interviews, a recent convert go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, and found SO MANY new investigators!!
Vivian and Casey had their interviews on Wednesday, they both passed and the district leader gave Casey a bag of American candy as a reward, haha. She's 11 and so amazing. She didn't want to eat her candy because she wanted to bring it home to share with her older sister. As we talked after her interview waiting for her mom, I asked her what her favorite color is. She said white because it's clean and pure. She asked us why she can't become a prophet. She's so awesome, I just love her so much! Vivian was so happy when she came out of her interview, they have so much desire to be baptized and we're really excited for their service this upcoming Friday! It's been such an amazing experience to be able to teach them and share my testimony with them and watch them change and grow because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We taught one of our super golden investigators this week and she just sat there next to us as we shared with her about the restoration. She got SO EXCITED when we taught her about prophets and prayer and Heavenly Father. I have never seen someone get so excited about the gospel. She just loved everything that we shared. She told us about how she sees missionaries on the road everyday when she drives home from work and she thinks it's a sign from God helping her know that this is the true church.
Heavenly Father is so awesome! We seriously found so many people this week who have a lot of interest in the gospel! They just want to learn and understand and have really been prepared by the Lord.
One night, I just wasn't feeling very effective and didn't feel like I had a lot of faith in the plan that we had made. We sat down to make phone calls as we had planned. I said the prayer and just asked Heavenly Father to help us use this time to help His children come unto Him, to help us see miracles and be effective. One of the first people we called answered and told us where he was and told us he wanted us to come over as soon as possible to meet with him! We went over and he was standing right there in the middle of the road for us to come. Haha, we called the elders and they came over with us. We sat in a park and were able to meet with this investigator. He had a lot of interest in learning more and even came to church the next morning! I know that Heavenly Father wants to pour down blessings upon us, we just have to ask and act in faith and He will work miracles!
Caroline, one of our recent converts was able to attend the temple this weekend! We met with her the night before to just help her if she had any questions, she was SO excited! At church the day after the temple, she told us how amazing it was for her! It was so great to be able to help her go to the temple for the first time and to know that she had such a rewarding experience there!!
One thing I have been thinking a lot about lately is what I really want to learn from my mission. As I do all that I can to consecrate myself and put all that I have into this work, to building the Lord's kingdom, I become a more effective instrument for the Lord as I do His work. I know He is accomplishing His will through the imperfect efforts of Sister Johnston and I. I love this work, I love the Lord, I love all of you! Words of Mormon 1:7, "And now, I do not know all things; but the Lord knoweth all things which are to come; he worketh in me to do according to His will."
I love you all so much! Sister Berrey
